Wild Roses, 2013
Acrylic paint and graphite on wood panel
20 x 24 inches (1.5 inches thick)
In the series “Emotions Expressed” I was exploring the idea of the feelings we walk around with but don’t show. I used the background space to mirror the inner world of the subject. In “wild roses” perhaps that feeling is love or passion. The wild roses are a representation of this woman’s true heart. Her face is neutral and shows nothing of the blooming happening inside her.
This painting is from the series “Emotions Expressed“.
